William Howard (1793 – 1834) was an American mechanical engineer who was one of the number one to act for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. Whilst a railroad built its number 1 cars using friction bearings first developed by Ross Winans, Howard made his have project & patented it in November 2 1828.
